The last Veteran MOT was completed in May 2017. Equipped with matching Fuchs alloy rims and painted in its original colour combination, this Porsche is in very good condition and drives impeccably. In October 2021, a completely overhauled and period correct 2.4 S engine number 6320007 was installed and the car received correct new front seats.

Several years ago, the car was imported into Switzerland and registered here. During its time in France a 1973 exchange engine was installed, and the car received a new paint job in its original colour of “117 light yellow”. This means there exist no air-cooled engines after 1998. Construction changed to a water-cooled Porsche 911 3.4-liter, 296 horsepower engine. The 6 cylinder, single overhead camshaft naturally aspirated engine has 2 valves per cylinder and a volume of 2.3 litres. The 911T was still using a carb, except in the US where it also used MFI, which accounts for the 9 hp power difference between the two. 1972 Porsche 911 S: Porsche 911 S is an automobile that has a 2 door coupé body style with a rear mounted engine driving through the rear wheels. The 911E and 911S used mechanical fuel injection in all markets. We assume, that the car was initially displayed in the showroom since it was not registered before 2nd October 1973. Not the most sensible way to treat a Porsche 6 cylinder boxer! The 911, with its chassis number 754, was built probably in 1971 and delivered to France. Originally an air-cooled 2.0-litre engine with Solex carburettors, the Porsche 911’s flat six engine got its first major revision in 1969 with the introduction of the B Series cars. According to legend, some owners as well as fuel station attendants mistook the filling port for the fuel tank and happily topped up the engine oil with petrol.

The 911 started as an AFN car, and was sold to a family in London, which is. It took us two years to perfect this interesting beast, so we thought it would be worth sharing some of the highlights here. With the model year 1973 the flap was discontinued. One of our restorations has recently been covered in Total 911 magazine. This 1972 example of a 911S with its oil refill flap behind the passenger door (used only in 19) is one of only 1’750 examples of this type built. There are 911’s and then there’s the 911S, the most powerful and most coveted of this legendary GT with its Hans Mezger designed flat six air-cooled engine emitting the unmistakable Porsche sound.
